We are seeking a highly motivated senior software engineer in cross-platform user interface and application development with a track record of success developing desktop and mobile applications - preferably on the IPad and Windows/MAC platforms.
As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction, conception, and implementation of application components, user interfaces, and APIs for desktop, browser-based, and mobile client applications.

Design, develop and maintain desktop and mobile application user interface components within Aspera's client software suite. Applications are deployed on Mac, Windows, and Linux desktops; Mozilla, IE, Safari, and Chrome browsers and mobile platforms (iPhone, Android, etc.).
Develop APIs and communication protocols for 3rd party developers to integrate Aspera client software in their products and platforms, and to communicate with Aspera server-side software.
In collaboration with other members of a small, fast-moving team, create next-generation end-user applications targeting desktop, browser and mobile platforms.
Develop and maintain unit tests and ensure correctness, robustness, performance and usability of the developed software.
At least 3 years’ experience in professional software development (5 or more years preferred).
Demonstrated success building excellent end-user applications through previous positions or independent projects.
Highly-motivated to achieve in a self-starter, highly dynamic start-up environment.
Will have a passion for working with mobile applications and enjoys challenges and problem solving.
Will have prior experience or educational experience developing mobile applications as well as participating in the final testing process of these applications.
Will utilize defined core technologies and best practice standards for development and have an ongoing desire to acquire new skills to ensure technical competency.
The ideal candidate will have one to three years' experience in embedded software development for portable devices, and should have one or more published mobile phone applications.
Proficiency with several of the following: Programming forXcode, iOS or MacOSX (iPad, iPhone)., Objective-C/Cocoa Touch,Java, QT experience, Strong object-oriented design and analysis skills experience with a mobile device focus, SQLite & Core Data DB experience, Experience with web technologies preferred, REST/XML/SOAP Web Services.
Nice to have: Android SDK and Eclipse development environment experience, HTML 5 ,JSON.
Minimum BSc degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (MSc preferred).
