Mobile Gaming Infrastructure Developer


Bionic Panda Games is looking for someone to design and implement a proprietary cloud services infrastructure for its Android mobile games. A successful candidate will have built server-side infrastructure for high-volume web or mobile applications in the past. This person must be intimately knowledgeable about (and more importantly know when to use) RDMS, message queues, and in-memory caches. Experience with payment systems integration is a huge plus. Oh, and you should really like open-source stuff.
Responsibilities
game design (yes, all employees are considered game designers to a certain degree)
design, implementation, and support of APIs for our mobile games
design, implementation, and support of internal tools such as a Content Management System
input into the weekly happy hour bar menu
Experience
5+ years of professional hacking experience in a *nix environment
Ruby on Rails is your platform of choice but you’re not overly religious
SQL & No-SQL & know why and when of both... but has experience with PostgreSQL
HTTP & HTTPS & JSON & XML & zipitallupsoitsfast
Amazon EC2 is your playground
Back-end integration with something like PayPal is a piece of cake
Does not like .NET
Would characterize yourself as a gamer (let’s frag?)
Does not like country music (unless you’re REALLY good)

Doesn't really matter as long as you've got the skills.
