The Sumeria Group is looking for interns that will assist the Sumeria Executive Team and city-specific Volunteer Coordinators as the company launches and manages its signature volunteer programs. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to take on large amounts of responsibility at a high-growth, exciting start-up organization. Students will also build their network through regular contact with senior officials at respected national and local Non-Profit Organizations as well as talented young professionals.
Interns will assist Sumeria's Executive Team and Volunteer Coordinators in our five different cities, including New York, Boston, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Washington DC.
This is an ideal internship for undergraduates looking to learn about the start-up/non-profit/social impact space, create relationships, have fun, and be part of the next big thing!
Interns will, among other things:
Be the line of communication between the company's Director of Operations and its Volunteer Coordinators.
Communicate regularly with Volunteer Coordinators to gather program feedback and organize feedback for Executive Management.
Organize media content from volunteer events for Social Media Team.
Candidates must be entrepreneurial-minded, very outgoing, and eager to learn about a variety of different industries.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a MUST. Interns should be comfortable speaking on the phone, communicating quickly and professionally via email, and conducting themselves in a social setting.
Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google.
-A stipend covering meal and transportation costs will be provided, if course credit cannot be obtained.
-Each intern will be paired with a Sumeria network member mentor in the industry (or industries) of their choice.
-Any costs or admission associated with any events, meetings, or social gatherings will be paid for.
