Overview
Does the prospect of getting paid to work on open source software excite you? Join an ambitious firm that uses a cutting-edge open source model to power biomedical clinical research. If you’re looking to get into this hot field or are already here but want to upgrade your career, this may be just what you need!

Akaza Research is looking for Java programmers to join our development team. Our flagship product, OpenClinica, is a standards-based, enterprise-capable open source (LGPL) application for data capture, management, and exchange in clinical trials. You’ll work with a small core team and a large community of experts that includes members of well-known academic and government institutions. Candidates may be of varying experience, but should at a minimum have a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience in computer science or a related field and exposure to the following technologies. If you’ve contributed to open-source projects in the past, make sure to let us know! We’re not saying it will get you the job, but it will help. Feel free to submit code samples with your resume where applicable.
Responsibilities

Interact with development team members, open source community members, and customers in all stages of development and deployment, including planning, documentation, construction, implementation, release, and maintenance.
