The Product Director is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including defining the product vision, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and working closely with design, engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure that revenue and customer engagement/satisfaction goals are met.
Product Directors combine a great instinct for inventing compelling products with a strong focus on users, technical aptitude to work with a world-class engineering team, design sensibility to manage the creative process and the business sense to drive revenue goals and strategies. The ideal candidate has exceptional insight, a passion for consumer web applications and native mobile applications, significant technical expertise, and extensive leadership and business skills.
The full gamut of product management/ownership, including product strategy, design, specifications, and interface with technology team in execution.
Chief consumer advocate, leveraging formal consumer research, customer service feedback and other channels to continually optimize customer experience.
Responsibility for service KPIs measuring engagement and retention.
Hire and managing a staff of product managers.
Work with world-class designers and engineers to develop and launch new products and continuously improve existing products.
Establish partnerships as necessary to drive the growth of Function(x)’s products.
Experience building, scaling and managing an online business. Deep understanding of online ecosystems
Strong understanding of highly usable Web apps; Mobile web apps; Native mobile apps; Web user experiences; and different Internet-based business models.
Solid product management experience with a track record of creating innovative and winning Internet and/or mobile solutions.
Strong people and organizational management skills. A natural leader and mentor.
Strong communication skills with the ability to evangelize the merits of Function(x)'s products internally and externally.
Curious, self-motivated, resourceful and able to work independently.
Ability to select and drive outside agency partnerships
Previous entrepreneurial / start-up experience highly preferred.
4 to 6 years of applicable experience desired.
Strong mix of technical, design and business sensibilities.
Ability to invent simple solutions for complex problems.
Willingness to use data to support hypothesis and intuition.
Understanding of the mobile apps marketplace.
Flexibility to work in an agile, iterative environment
