Overview
AppNexus is seeking creative and business-minded professionals with a strong passion for technology to be a Product Manager for the product development team. The Product Manager will be a key player in identifying and collecting business requirements, creating business cases and technical specs, managing projects and product features on an ongoing basis. This person will work closely with marketing, sales, design, technology and executive teams to develop and manage product and feature development. The role requires consideration for long-term product quality and vision as well as overall customer satisfaction and calls for an individual with entrepreneurial drive and extraordinary flexibility to meet the demands at a high-energy start-up.
Responsibilities
Understand the business issues and technical challenges and collaborate with teams to capture requirements for projects.
Prioritize projects among competing opportunities, balance customer needs with business priorities, and articulate rationale behind decisions.
Identify internal and external customer needs, generate requirements documents, prioritize and manage projects.
Work closely with sales, implementation, account management and executive teams to define and manage existing product needs.
Be highly involved in the entire product development process seeing each project through the entire development and release process.
Monitor competition and evaluate our positioning in the context of the markets we serve.
Define, analyze, track and improve key product metrics.
Skills
BS Degree (or equivalent), Computer Science or Engineering Degree preferred.
Understanding of agile product development methods.
A passion for or appreciation of practical use of technology.
Strong analytical capability and understanding of key financial and business metrics.
Gracious team player capable of navigating the organization with skill and charm.
Ability to work with a high degree of independence.
Entrepreneurial spirit.
