Overview
We are looking for a driven and passionate Product Manager to help manage product development initiatives for the Digg site. Reporting to the Director of Product, this position requires a creative individual who enjoys collaborative problem solving in a cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities
Work with the Design, Development, Marketing, and Business Development teams to define requirements and functional specifications for project initiatives
Meticulously think through every aspect of the user experience, putting users' needs and expectations first in the definition of requirements
Collect and analyze key site and business metrics and use this data to support the prioritization and definition of project initiatives
Maintain timelines, deliverables, and requirements for projects so that they launch on time and in scope
Gather new ideas for site features by reaching out to the Digg community actively monitoring channels for feedback
Track, organize, and prioritize product bugs
Monitor product development initiatives of key competitors
Help explore product implications for new business and partnership opportunities
Experience
Minimum 3 - 5 years of product management experience, preferably in consumer Web-based products
Passion for analyzing products, customers and market dynamics
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong use of analytics and business cases to drive decisions
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage projects concurrently
Experience or familiarity with Agile product development methodologies
Understanding of the technical trade-offs of various Web production technologies
Education
BA/BS/CS degree; MBA a strong plus
