Overview
You are a smart, self-managed, battle-tested technologist who knows how to take an idea and turn it into something real in an interactive consumer-facing environment. You are frustrated with financial products and know you can build a better customer experience.
You possess the supernatural ability to be both technical and creative, while acting as a guiding light for what customers want/need (even if they don’t know it yet). As the voice of the customer you can deliver a complex product that appears simple and intuitive to a non-technical audience.
You have to be a strong communicator and love working with geeks. You’ll work with engineers to define product release requirements, and with marketing to define go-to-market strategies. That means you need to speak two languages in addition to your own (actually three languages when you count the customers’).
Responsibilities
Own and manage all aspects of the product lifecycle and user experience for a given product
Specify requirements for current and future products at a functional and technical level
Translate product strategies, market trends, and customer feedback into specific tactical plans and clearly defined phased releases
Research technical, business, and legal requirements to ensure the product satisfies all potential needs
Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape through analysis, user research, and site testing
Develop mockup interaction designs, including user interaction models, wire frames, screen flows, and dialog copy
Analyze and present hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and feature concepts
Perform ongoing analysis and propose necessary actions to ensure continued marketability of the product
Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
