Dotmenu collects, updates and maintains a proprietary database of US restaurants, menus and food offerings. This data powers Dotmenu and partner websites that provide access to menus and online ordering. The Product Manager is responsible for the ongoing growth, operations and management of the database.
Defining the strategic position of the database and implementing strategies to the acquire, enter, update, categorize and tag the content
Assessing content gaps, and developing and prioritizing operational activities to address the gaps.
Creating, maintaining and reporting on key metrics of the database - providing ongoing definition and refinement of the content strategy to meet both short term and long range goals.
Ongoing monitoring of all relevant market developments including customer needs, market developments and competitive activities - adjusting database activities and strategic priorities to respond appropriately.
Working closely with the marketing, sales and business development teams to manage the various delivery platforms including web, feeds, APIs and third-party media partners.
Leading the information technology, marketing and sales groups in the interpretation of new product features and the translation into operational priorities.
Providing input into all database/content initiatives and projects across the company. Applying industry knowledge and expertise in optimizing Dotmenu’s use of in-house and third-party data needs.
Developing financial plans necessary to obtain investment in database development and content collection; tracking performance against forecasted objectives and developing corrective strategies when objectives are not being met.
Support the selling process and our sales organization (as appropriate).
7+ years of experience in product development and/or product management with information products
5+ years of experience in the operations and management of database collection methodologies (including outsourcing strategies)
5+ years of experience with database technology solutions
Experience with strategic alliances and third-party distribution relationships
Knowledge of the food industry is a plus
Proven project management skills
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work across groups and with all levels of hierarchy
