Amplify Learning is creating exciting new curriculum that reinvents teaching and learning in the core subjects of English Language Arts, math and science. These products combine interactive game-like experiences with analytics that meet the rigorous demands of the CCSS. By optimizing the power of adaptive technologies, our Learning products support individualized instruction for students and, at the same time, facilitate classroom management for teachers.
The Product Manager works with senior leadership, product development teams, and key partners, taking full responsibility for the identification, definition, analysis, prioritization and ongoing refinement of product and/or platform requirements. The Product Manager will distill our educational vision into executable projects and communicate requirements, schedules, and deliverables to team members.
This is a short-term 3 month assignment with the potential for extension.
Responsibilities of the Product Manager:
Work as a core member and collaborative leader of 2 to 8 person cross-functional agile development team
Help shape the product roadmap, define scope, participate in estimation efforts, and prioritize initiatives
Prioritize, maintain and groom the product backlog and release plan
Write and maintain product user stories by performing business analysis, working with other team members to understand use cases, features and domain rules
Represent the interest of Product Management and End Users in the development of the product, helping to shape the look, feel and flow of the software
Manage customer, partner, and vendor relationships as necessary
Spend time with users gathering feedback and new requirements on product increments
Ensure that product vision is decomposed into operational projects and systems that map to business and technology goals
Maintain communication among and between stakeholders and technology teams to ensure alignment of vision and implementation
Develop and maintain feature /product development roadmaps
Anticipate and mitigate roadblocks and barriers to successful project completion with both Technical Product Owner’s and Business Product Owner’s
Basic Qualifications of the Product Manager:
BA/BS or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in software product development
2+ years of experience as a product owner
Proven ability to understand client needs and align them with business goals
Proven experience working in math education and/or math content development
Preferred Qualifications of the Product Manager:
Background in technology, design and user experience
Experience with mobile technologies would be a bonus
Experience with multiple full project lifecycles, from concept to delivery
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organization skills; creativity and objective-oriented focus
