Overview
The Professional Services Consultant is a member of the software vendor's engagement project team and is responsible for helping clients optimize their deployment and use of practice management and revenue cycle product functionality based on a defined set of operational objectivities. Will travel to client sites (approx. 75%) and provide expertise and project oversight.
Responsibilities
Utilizing previously acquired knowledge of Revenue Cycle and/or Electronic Health Record workflows, the Consultant will provide support for applicable components of the implementation life cycle to include: Pre-implementation planning, current and future state process analysis and workflow design, metrics development, project governance, organizational decision making, transition/change management, readiness assessments, post live “health checks” for system and process optimization, etc.
Experience
Additional responsibilities include:
Provide process and subject matter expertise for the assigned applications and/or area of operation (for example, Business Office, Clinical Documentation, etc.)
Develop client deliverables as documented in contract scope of work (project plan, current state assessment, readiness assessment, rollout roadmaps, final reports, etc)
Provide consultative advice, recommendations and suggestions for best practice process and use of product functionality based on expertise utilizing software and real-world experience working with the healthcare client base
Skills
Required Skills:
Demonstrated consulting experience working with physician office Practice Management systems and/or physician office Electronic Health Record systems.
Experience with one of the industry leading Practice Management/Electronic Health Record systems is required.
Demonstrated understanding of the ambulatory health care industry including:
Revenue Cycle and/or Clinical/Patient Care Operations (successful practice processes and workflows)
Healthcare information systems features and functionality
Information systems implementation life cycle methodology
Healthcare process design and analysis consulting
Regulatory requirements such as Meaningful Use
At least 3 years of direct implementation experience in any combination of the following Ambulatory Healthcare Information Systems applications/modules:
Practice Management/Revenue Cycle Management
Electronic Health Record
Analytics
Clinical Documentation
CPOE
Electronic Prescribing
Health Information Exchange
Ability to travel approximately 75% annually
Preferred Skills:
Experience with assisting in the writing of proposals, scope of work, and client presentations
BS in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
Education
BS in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
