Overview
Amplify Learning is creating exciting new curriculum that reinvents teaching and learning in the core subjects of English Language Arts, math and science. These products combine interactive game-like experiences with analytics that meet the rigorous demands of the CCSS. By optimizing the power of adaptive technologies, our Learning products support individualized instruction for students and, at the same time, facilitate classroom management for teachers.

Amplify is looking for a Temporary Junior Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams that envision, develop and test tablet-based curriculum products to support a tablet-based curriculum. This role will guide the efforts of a team of stakeholders from all levels of the company and external partners and vendors. The right candidate will lead teams through all phases of the SDLC. He/she will gain experience on a large-scale project under the guidance of Senior Project Managers. Additionally, there is the potential for the Junior PM to serve as the primary PM on one or more smaller projects.

Responsibilities
Ensure team is fully functional and productive /remove barriers to progress and shield team from external influences
Serve as primary owner for vendor management and budget tracking, e.g. onboarding of new contractors, tracking spend, processing invoices
Work closely with Senior PM to track and report progress across multiple sprints
Coalesce sprint metrics from several agile subteams, including burndown charts and analyses of velocity
Manage logistics to support distributed team wide meetings, e.g., sprint planning sessions, demos, and retrospectives
Act as Scrum Master of small agile team - facilitate daily scrums and enable close coordination across all team members
Work closely with Technical Product Owner to facilitate bi-weekly sprint ceremonies, including retrospectives, demos, and sprint planning sessions
Create and track project plans, perform business analysis, write requirements, develop project estimates, follow Amplify Learning’s process standards to meet project objectives, manage scope throughout the project lifecycle
Clarify and communicate technical project objectives and success criteria to the team while providing motivation, direction, and overall management to internal project teams and external vendors
Track and communicate project status, issues, risks and decisions to senior management
Experience
1+ year of project management experience using a formal methodology to deliver software through all phases of the SDLC
Technical foundation in tablet software development for Android and iOS
Experience managing the creation and development of interactive, educational applications
Vendor management and budget tracking experience
Skills
Proficiency in risk management and contingency planning
Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a Project scheduling tool (e.g. MS Project, SmartSheet)
Interest in Web 2.0 software and how it can integrate into business processes
Familiarity with the Common Core State Standards
Possess strong communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills and organization skills
Understanding of technology and the ability to learn quickly
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
