Project Manager - Consulting

Overview
The Project Manager - Consulting works with senior Amplify leadership and key customer accounts and partners. The project manager controls day to day operational aspects of a project/s, works to keep projects on time, on budget, while maintaining excellent team morale and high customer satisfaction.



Responsibilities of the Project Manager - Consulting:

Managing one or more concurrent small to medium sized software development projects
Create and manage project work plans, perform business analysis, write specifications, develop initial project estimates, meet project objectives, and manage scope throughout the project life-cycle
Track and communicate project status, issues, risks and decisions to colleagues, senior management and customers as needed
Track and forecast project cost, revenue and margin
Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria to stakeholders and the team members while providing motivation, direction, and overall management to teams of up to 6-10 people including designers, architects, developers, QA, etc
Develop accurate and timely project documentation
Manage third-party partner and vendor relationships as necessary


Basic Requirements of the Project Manager - Consulting:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
4+ years of project management experience using formal software development life-cycles (knowledge of agile and Waterfall required)
Proficiency guiding multiple full project life-cycles from concept to delivery
Proven experience directly managing individuals in a matrix organization
Proven experience with problem-solving and business analysis skills as well as the ability to negotiate and bring consensus in high pressure situations
Proficient communication skills and comprehensive customer relationship management experience
Proven ability to work independently, based on guidelines and requirements set by senior management
Proficient organization skills and the ability to keep track and follow up on multiple issues, risks, and tasks


Preferred Requirements of the Project Manager - Consulting:

Master’s degree
PMP certification
Experience working in education, and or education technology
Knowledge of MS Project or Rally
