Responsibilities
Work with Marketing Director to develop public relations strategy and execution surrounding high-visibility events, key partnerships, company milestones and product launches.
Write press releases, briefings, website copy, informational collateral and other marketing materials.
Maintain updated media materials and website communications for press.
Lead and assist incoming PR inquiries.
Assist with execution of social media marketing across Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, YouTube and blogs.
Maintain databases of media contacts.
Interface with designers on image and collateral needs.
Pursue syndication opportunities.
Work closely with vendors and partners to strategize programming and develop smart campaigns that generate viewership.
Generate and pursue content leads
Experience
Comfortable on web 2.0 and social media sites, especially sites such as Myspace, Facebook, imeem, blogs, fan sites, forums, etc.
Thorough and effective communicator
2-4 years of experience in public relations or marketing; agency experience strongly preferred
Thorough understanding of publicity campaigns, public relations and marketing
Interest in music, news events, pop culture, and web 2.0 technologies.
Self-starter motivated to succeed with minimal handholding.
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, startup environment
Strong desire to learn new technologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong aptitude for problem solving and follow-through on issues.
Flexibility and teamwork are critical. Employee must adapt quickly in a growing, dynamic company.
Work schedule includes weekends and late nights. Must thrive in a start-up environment.
