Python Backend Engineer

Shoptouch is looking engineers who love to code in Python and develop infrastructure for mobile apps. We're working on exciting new concepts that will define the next generation of mobile product search and shopping. The right candidate loves programming and is passionate about building products for web and mobile devices. We have a fast-paced environment with the right balance of quick, iterative development and deliberate, smart architecting.
Write high performance Python code that deploys to production multiple times per week
Make key architectural decisions
Implement algorithmic changes
Write new app features and enhancements
Resolve user submitted bugs in real-time
Have 3+ years solid programming experience and a CS degree (or equivalent experience)
1+ years experience with Python, Ruby or other functional programming language
Excellent with at least one programming language, and good with many others
Strong knowledge of Python or other functional programming language. (Ruby, LISP, Erlang, ...)
Practical understanding of relational database design principles
Excellent time management skills - or willingness to learn these skills from the team
BONUS: You've build web-based admin controls and reporting tools
BONUS: You are a PostgreSQL guru
BONUS: Hands-on knowledge of distributed systems, fault tolerance, and scalability
BONUS: Experience with Amazon EC2
BONUS: Experience with Hadoop and related frameworks
BONUS: YOU have configed a fully redundant web server solution (balance, proxy, http, db, caching) from scratch
A BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred
