Overview
FoodieLink is a new social media site based in NYC whose mission is to educate, engage, and compel people towards better eating. Increasingly people are realizing the importance of our food choices and its impact on the health of individuals, families, local communities, and the planet. FoodieLink empowers members to learn about and access good, healthy eating through informative blogs, community interaction, and engagement with local and national merchants. FoodieLink not only educate members about what good eating means, it will link them directly with the restaurants, producers, farmers, and other merchants that can help them do so.
Responsibilities
Summary - Looking for a Web Developer to build out and administer an existing web application built with Pinax and Django. Develop maintainable Django applications, integrate with and improve existing code. Telecommuting ok? Local preferred? Will need to state that weekly status meetings are required.
Experience
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge of Python, Ruby, or any dynamic programming language
Demonstrated experience with Django, Rails, Pylons, or any other open source MVC framework
Familiarity with Pinax a plus
Understanding of MySQL or PostgreSQL
Experience with cloud computing such as Amazon Web Services, Slicehost, Linode, Rackspace Cloud, etc
Skills
Entry Level
1+ year(s) Python, Ruby, or PHP experience (must be willing to learn Python)
1+ year(s) Django, Pylons, or Rails
HTML and CSS best practices
Junior/Senior Level
3+ years Python experience
Must show working sites he created with Django
HTML and CSS expertise
