Python Software Engineer

at Crowd Science in Mountain View, CA   —   Jul 06, 2014   |
Crowd Science is a quickly expanding technology company helping the best publishers in the world use data in clever ways to learn about their users and improve online advertising. We have a team of smart people - with room for few more.

We're venture funded and based in Mountain View, California, near the Googleplex.

The area: Engineering

Crowd Science's engineering team designs, builds, and maintains the Crowd Science technology platform and the products that sit on top of it. Our projects include information-analysis, control system algorithms, massive scalability, storage solutions and rich interactive user interfaces.

We're platform agnostic, but tend to be Mac snobs. We spend most of our time hacking Python, MySQL and JavaScript using libraries and tools like Django, Dojo, Memcache, Hadoop, SVM, NumPy, SciPy and Protovis.

Crowd Science engineers take part in all aspects of software development from design, programming and debugging to deployment and optimization.

The role: Software Engineer

We're looking for a software engineer (intermediate to senior) who can help us design and build components for our platform and the toolsets that support them. You will also help us optimize and scale as our user base grows.
4+ years designing/developing large-scale internet software systems.
Experience working with Python, or the confidence to be productive as quickly as someone who is. Bonus points for Django.
Experience in database design and development.
Deep familiarity and opinions on internet protocols and formats like HTTP, REST and JSON.
Bachelors degree in computer science or mathematics, or equivalent experience.
