Meetup is hiring a MySQL/Hadoop DBA. We are an exceptional and dedicated operations team and we expect the same of you. We are constantly faced with challenges as we maintain a highly trafficked website, integrate new technologies and collaborate with our development team to get features deployed smartly and quickly. You will show us how to organize our data, where we went wrong and where we can be more right. You must meet all of the listed requirements.
As a Data Operations Engineer, you will:
• Manage our data repositories!
(MogileFS, MySql, Hadoop/Hbase)
An ideal candidate has:
• 5+ years of production software development experience
• Experience with relational and nosql db's, SQL, query optimization, and data modeling
• Strong experience with Linux and MySQL system administration and scripting tools – shell/perl/python
• Experience managing data disaster recovery
• Experience with large scale data management and maintenance of hardware in a colocation facility
• Excellent problem solving skills
