Overview
As part of the engineering team you'll be working in a fast-paced, challenging environment to ensure that all features and fixes released to the service meet the defined functional specifications and are bug-free. This position will work with our Engineering team in an Agile/SCRUM environment to facilitate testing, analysis, and process management for our popular e-commerce website. You will analyze product and feature specifications as they relate to usability and customer needs, ultimately helping create a more usable and effective product. Our website is at the forefront of event ticketing websites; you will be working on a unique, quickly changing segment of the ecommerce market!
Responsibilities
contribute to the test strategy and execution
develop Test Scenarios/ test scope, estimates, timelines, etc.
create black, gray, and white box automated tests as appropriate
build, maintain, and extend regression and automation suites.
respond to dynamic situations while maintaining adherence to best principals
drive continuous improvement in test coverage and test effectiveness
build alliances with business owners, product owners, developers, and operations
accomplish aggressive goals and meet strict deadlines
be an active participant in an Agile/SCRUM environment
periodically review test cases developed and the test execution results of the team
ensure defects are logged correctly and tracked through closure
Experience
at least 4 yrs experience of website QA experience, with 3+ years of experience in black-box testing web based applications, such as grey box testing
experience working with Unix / Linux shell and experience writing batch / shell scripts to test applications with no graphical user interface
strong understanding of Web, HTTP, DNS, client-server and Enterprise network protocols is a must
3+ years experience with testing/debugging Apache-based web applications, test automation tools (such as Selenium, Watir, WebTest, Canoo, etc.), experience using a database system, preferably MySQL; and knowledge of load performance, stress, integration, recovery and code coverage testing
proficiency in internet and web-based, n-tier software testing
the ability to adapt to frequent and potentially disruptive change
strong attention to details,
experience testing in Windows, Mac and Linux environments on a variety of browsers
Education
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent education/professional experience
