QA Engineer- Performance & Scalability

at Beanstock Media in San Francisco, CA   —   Apr 15, 2014   |  
You're a senior performance engineer who wants to make an impact on the bottom line. You've mastered the art of tuning applications, operating systems, databases, and kung fu. At Beanstock Media, you'll play a pivotal role within the engineering department and work with engineers in delivering a performant, reliable, and scalable platform.
Design and implement tools and infrastructures that will be utilized across multiple test and development teams.
Continually analyze data from various sources (both business and technical) to model usage profiles and generate traffic projections. You'll translate them and other metrics into operational capacity needs.
Report weekly performance trends and communicate team status against committed milestones and projects.
Continually refine your tests because you're never satisfied that you've covered enough.
Conduct research on latest performance related tools, trends and methodologies.
Familiarity with Agile, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodologies a huge plus
Good understanding of the Digital Media landscape- if you know what LUMA slides are and who the players in them represent, we want to talk to you
Excellent coding skills in one or more of the following: C/C++, Ruby, and/or Perl.
Hands on experience working with languages like R for statistical analysis.
Must have a deep understanding of large-scale distributed systems, client/server architectures, and application architectures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
