QA Engineer (SF)

The Team
Overview
This QA engineer candidate should specialize in web development and be intimately familiar with the differences between GET and POST, Safari and Firefox bugs, IE6 and IE7 changes, DocTypes, CSS and JS. The ideal candidate will have some coding background and is passionate about optimizing the speed and usability of tested applications. Special preference will be reserved for candidates with experience in social network platform development. The QA Engineer will be responsible for creation of the test harness as well as creation and execution of automated tests that validate the KickApps customer experience.
Responsibilities
Design, create and execute functional test cases and scripts
Design and create test plans and test matrices
Ability to lead and work effectively within a project team
Participate in Requirements, Design, and Architecture reviews
Review all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
Execute automated and manual test cases
Verify, document and manage report of software bugs
Analyze results and effectively communicate results
Communicate and provide regular status, performance and operational reports to Management
Work closely with the development engineering team to ensure timely resolution of bug fixes.
Build and manage relationships with internal and external organizations
Work directly with Product Managers and Development Engineers to solve problems
Analyze and escalate issues as they arise throughout the product development lifecycle
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years software of development experience in a Web environment including: GET and POST, safari and firefox bugs, IE6 and IE7 changes, DocTypes, CSS and JS, HTML and DHTML, Javascript and server-side ASP.NET and/or JSP (J2EE) technologies.
Minimum 2 years developing and interfacing with PHP technologies
Strong working knowledge of web services using either XML over HTTP or SOAP.
Experience with digital streaming media (Windows Media and Real) required
Experience working in a High Availability, high-volume computing environment
Experience with supporting Web applications using IIS, Apache or other Web Servers
Education
B.A. / B.S. or equivalent computer industry experience
