RECSOLU, the leading campus recruiting software, services, and consulting company headquartered in downtown Chicago, is seeking a talented Quality Assurance Engineer to help design, build, implement and deploy quality assurance strategies and test cases, ensuring our web-based and mobile software platform and applications comply with design requirements and provide an optimal user experience for our Fortune 500 enterprise customers. The Quality Assurance Engineer will work collaboratively across multiple engineering teams and will focus on the accuracy, reliability and stability of all platform APIs and mobile applications, current and future.
Responsibilities
Assess test quality and coverage by creating and running unit, functional and system tests across both API and mobile applications (both automated and manual)
Supplement the existing mobile engineering team by implementing new functionality, ensuring sufficient test coverage is implemented using generated and supplied testing data
Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve customer and/or system issues
Raise issues to engineering team and management through reporting system
Provide stakeholders with confidence in test coverage & deployment readiness on demand
Develop and apply quality assurance best practices across API and mobile products and continually revisiting assumptions to produce the best products
Eagerness to expand upon existing technical knowledge and expertise through continuous learning, experimentation, research & development and community participation
Ensure that the final shipping product matches the product design & specifications
Contribute to team culture through tech talks, cross-team training sessions and code reviews
Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related technical field
2+ years of experience with Quality Engineering, Software Engineering or Test-Driven development of web and/or mobile applications in an agile environment
Ruby, C / C++, Python and/or other object-oriented programming languages
Experience with automation frameworks & scripting tools (e.g. UI Automation, Calabash, Selenium, etc)
Understanding of test areas such as functional, performance, and security testing
Experience with test processes and QA methodologies, test case/script generation, test automation infrastructure and frameworks and exposure to the software development process
Ability to design and implement end-to-end test automation solutions.
Experience with test scripts and applications written with Ruby, JavaScript and console tools
Customer-oriented mindset and ability to anticipate issues proactively
Strong troubleshooting instincts, patience and focus on the task at hand
Outstanding attention to detail required
Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills
