Patch is a new local news company focused on reinventing community journalism one town at a time. We employ a full-time editor for each community we serve, and create personalized news in towns across the country, encouraging participation from local users with our high-quality content. We've been very successful in meeting our goals so far, and with a big expansion planned for 2010, we need your help!
We currently have an opening for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer who will test and help improve our web based local news platform. You have experience testing web sites and have used Selenium for automation testing. Are you an independent and creative thinker, and have a strong desire to take ownership of software projects at a small but rapidly growing company?
We are looking for someone who:
Has performed testing for large-scale, deployed web sites.
Has experience writing comprehensive and easily reproducible bug reports
Has experience defining and building an automated test suite from the ground up.
Strong prior Qa experience at a media or ecommerce company
Skills your will need to be successful in this role:
4 + years of website testing
Automated testing experience with Selenium and Cucumber or similar frameworks 4 + years of website testing
Demonstrated ability to write automation test cases
Organized, hands-on approach and sense of urgency
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with a team of developers to translate requirements into a working test suite
Experience working in an Agile development/testing process
Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science/Engineering discipline)
