Overview
We are building an internet service that helps consumers get organized and simplify their lives, enables businesses to reduce millions in cost each year, and is great for our environment. Our business concept has been tested through prototypes, focus groups, and usability testing – the people and companies we’ve talked to are excited about this new service. We are well-funded by a large private corporation – the board and executive team are 200% committed and the funding provided demonstrates their backing.
Development is just getting started. This is a great opportunity to join a highly motivated team and build an app from scratch. We will be a mostly Mac shop (you can choose Windows) and we are about to move into our offices in downtown San Francisco (2 blocks from Embarcadero BART) with great views of the bay.

Responsibilities
Design, develop and launch both the consumer-facing site and the back-end data integration platform. There’s a lot of work to do!
Ensure product and platform is built with the best solutions for scalability, availability and security. The application needs to scale in a very big way. Provide input into selecting the right technologies for the job at hand.

Experience
2+ years of internet software development experience with an emphasis on Ruby, Rails/Sinatra, Javascript, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and CSS
Interest in learning and prototyping technologies such as NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc..)
Comfortable working in a small dynamic Agile environment and willing to take on various roles, no task too big or too small (whole team). We believe that all members of the team should be comfortable working in all layers of the stack. If you’re not quite there yet, be super willing to learn.
A passion for strong consumer user experience and building the best software in the world
Prior experience building and maintaining highly scalable production websites a plus
A strong background in computer science and/or math
