The Research Manager for English Language Arts (ELA) will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing, ELA education research studies that examine the usability and efficacy of ELA programs.
Responsibilities of the Research Manager, ELA:
Providing mentorship to build the professional development capacity of the research team
Presenting findings at internal meetings and external conferences and events
Facilitating communications across divisions including development, analytics, marketing, and sales, as well as with third-party organizations/firms
Facilitating progress of research studies through management of and communications with the team and/or third-party research firms
Directly managing research projects with school districts and usability testing on site
Contribute to managing research projects and working with other research managers as needed
Working individually and with consultants to review research literature relevant to products
Identifying and summarizing the most pertinent information from the research literature
Attending product development team meetings to track and document the concepts and theories underlying the development of products
Writing descriptions of how products reflect best practices and research
Putting the literature and product descriptions together into foundations documents
Managing the design process for research papers
Writing formal research reports from analyses done by our team or consultants
Working with authors and interns to draft, organize, and edit research papers as needed
Formalizing the interior organization and format of our various types of research papers
Basic Qualifications of the Research Manager, ELA:
Master’s degree in education or psychology with specialization in ELA education research.
3+ years of experience conducting research studies in ELA education
1+ years of experience managing small teams
Must be able to travel throughout the US as needed to manage field research studies.
