Demonstrate competency to join, surface, fabricate or repair parts of metal or other weld- able materials as specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches or charts.

Perform fit-up and weld out of projects following established procedures and instructions. Performs more advanced functions as part of training and development. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.

Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.

Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.

Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and standardS.

Complete inspection documentation. Reports all discrepancies with manufacturing standards.

Welders required for an engineering company working within the petro chemical and oil and gas industries. Welders who have welded using 6G position. Welding FCAW (flux core) and MMA or route wire. Thickness of pipe will be 15mm and diameter of pipe will be 8". Welding using carbon steel. Ideally you will be a structural plate welding experience along with pipe welding.
