Seeking Rock Star Web Developer/Software Engineer for early stage equity stake.
Are you a multi-skilled software engineer who dreams of creating web technologies that really make a difference in the world?
Are you passionate about the outdoors? Do you regularly hike, ski, climb or bike and have a feel for what fellow enthusiasts like and dislike?
We are seeking an "All-Star" technologist to join us and lead the effort to continue the development of www.gravitycollege.com. We have spent 18 months and nearly $1M to get the site this far and currently have over 1,000,000 miles of trails in our database as well as several other intellectual assets. Several well know major players are currently evaluating the dataset for licensing purposes. This would be an EQUITY ONLY position until we are funded. Once funded you would assume the salaried role of CTO.
With the help of a few key advisers we are actively seeking Angel involvement. In the mean time, we're ready to start building several additional functions. We're looking for a smart and highly motivated software engineer with a startup mentality to join us in this effort- someone with strong leadership skills / potential to become co-founder and CTO.
Ideally, you will be able to work 10-20 hours per week MINIMUM while building out the additional functions
Ability to familiarize yourself with the existing architecture quickly.
Write up feature roadmaps, requirements, product documentation, debugging and maintenance.
Spearhead the future architecture and mobile app development
PHP 5 Expert (with solid experience utilizing OOP principles with PHP)
Familiarity with the product lifecycle
Experience drawing up UMLs diagrams, database schemas, product requirement documents
Excellent communication and teamwork
Experience with PostGIS, Featureserver, ESRI, and GoogleMaps are a huge plus, but not required in the right candidate
BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent (MS preferred)
Strong academic record
