Overview
Gift Side Story is an angel-investor backed startup that helps men find the right gifts for important women in their lives. We are a team of 7, looking for 1-2 driven Ruby Developers - mid-level engineers (1-2 years with RoR and/or a few years with other languages)

Responsibilities
Can quickly write good code that is well structured, easily maintainable, and well documented (be able to show us representative samples)
Have the ability to prototype new concepts quickly, & pays attention to detail.
Have a demonstrated record of self-organizing to deliver software on-time and within budget in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with rapid iteration and development schedules.
Are passionate about building a powerful platform with an elegant and intuitive consumer experience.
Skills
Strong experience with Ruby on Rails or languages with similar frameworks and has the ability to learn new languages quickly.
Willingness and ability to work on projects/problems throughout the stack, and particularly the front- nd, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript and at least one associated framework (e.g., jQuery, prototype, YUI).
Knowledge of data structures and database strategy.
Knowledge of cloud computing (Amazon EC2 and S3) and how to leverage the cloud to build scalable applications.
Comfortable enough to configure a MySQL database.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Education
B.S or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience, and is a mix of salary and equity competitive with NYC angel-backed start-ups.
