Overview
Ideally, we are looking for someone that grew up with computers and knows what a BBS is. That being said, if you’re new to the game and have lots of skills when it comes to building kick ass web apps then we’re game for that too.

In addition, if you love video, movies, TV shows.. and have watched them online at sites like Hulu, FanCast, NetFlix, or Vimeo then you’re on the right path to getting hired with us. All our project management software is available online so there’s no need for you to be local, but bonus points will be given if you are.
Experience
Have created or been the lead developer on at least 3 large scale Ruby on Rails projects
Experience in developing large scale, high traffic web applications deployed in UNIX environments
Architected and built a major public REST API
Experience developing with Amazon AWS infrastructure (EC2/S3)
Skills
Strong skills in development, OO architecture and design, and SQL and database design
Local environment is a Mac
Fluent working in a test/behaviour driven development life-cycle (rSpec/Cucumber/Shoulda/AutoTest)
You avoid Java at all costs
Consistent at writing bug free code; or to be modest, very well tested code
Can’t imagine a project not being managed without GIT (or at least SVN)
Love to use AJAX to keep the interface fluent and engaging (jQuery preferred)
Familiarity with browser capabilities and restrictions
Have deployed at least one Merb app in the wild
Believer that tables are for eating off of… and not for building a webpage with
