Overview
Doormates is a New York City based startup that develops and launches social networking platforms to bring together people in neighborhoods and in residential apartment buildings. Doormates uses proprietary technology to create private, secure networks that allow users to interact with each other in a safe environment. We also leverage the Facebook platform to create more meaningful connections to the people who live around you.
As Doormates continues to build out its product, we are looking for an exceptional full-time developer to join our technical team. You will work closely with our veteran developers to create web applications and Facebook apps primarily using Ruby on Rails. We're looking for hustlers that understand what it takes to thrive in the highly-competitive world of start-ups. This is a challenging role, but offers the unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new company and help set its strategic direction.
The ideal candidate will be someone with entrepreneurial drive, a strong orientation towards growth, and a desire to work in a fun environment. You should be a self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable working with limited top-down supervision. You should have a passion for building and shipping products and have stellar programming and design skills.

Experience
Previous experience building high performance web applications
Experience in Ruby/ROR, PHP, Java, or other server side scripting and compiled languages
Familiarity with developing Facebook apps
Demonstrable skills, ability to provide portfolio of previous projects
Visual design skills is a plus
No start-up experience necessary. A willing demeanor and a demonstration of team-first attitude is of utmost importance.
Compensation
Compensation is industry competitive and will include salary and other benefits.
