We are on a mission to provide delightful, modern payroll to businesses everywhere. We've built a product we're proud of and which our customers love. We are seeking a few Ruby On Rails Engineers to join our growing team. The "builder" culture is core to everything we do and you'll be joining our existing group of amazing engineers who (1) care about the customer viewpoint, (2) expect excellence of themselves and those around them, (3) are doing the best work of their lives, and (4) take care of our engineering family.
Here, you will:
Architect, build, test and refine new products and services.
Be an owner of what you build.
Tackle a wide variety of coding problems throughout the stack and contribute to all parts of our code base.
Build a product that processes millions and millions of dollars in payroll.
Be a team player in a flat-structured, highly collaborative environment.
Work with our product team to understand customer pain points, come up with solutions, and then prototype, iterate, and launch frequently what you've made.
Be surrounded by individuals doing the best work of their lives, and loving every moment of it.
Work directly with our CTO on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate will:
Care about the customer viewpoint and derive joy from knowing that what they've built is solving a real problem.
Enjoy working with technologies like Rails, Backbone.js, jQuery, Coffeescript, MySQL, RSpec, Git, and Mocha.
Turn wireframes and mocks into elegantly executed code.
Have demonstrable track record building distributed, clustered, high-throughput applications that scale.
Embrace a test-driven development process.
Have experience with user-centered interaction design.
Have the ability to create well-designed APIs — we'd love to hear about your favorites and why they are great.
Think like an owner in terms of how they work, the quality of their work, and what they work on.
Be able to design and write well-structured, easily maintainable, well-documented code that balances beauty and pragmatism
Bonus: Proficient in both Linux (production) and Mac OSX (development) environments preferred
Most importantly, be the type of person who's not just looking for a "job", but wants to join a tight-knit, hard-working family united by a common mission. You'll be amply rewarded for the work you do.
