Quirky is seeking an exceptional Ruby on Rails web developer with experience working on high-traffic consumer-facing websites. Our business is growing at an insane pace, and we need engineers that will help us take our technology platform to the next level. Attention to detail and dedication to quality are non-negotiable.

ABOUT US
Quirky is a social product developmentā„¢ company that brings consumer product ideas from sketch to store every week and rewards the thousands of contributors to these products with a share of the revenue generated by their sale. Our products are regularly featured on blogs such as Gizmodo and Engadget, and we have been profiled by a number of publications ranging from the New York Times to Parade Magazine. We recently announced a partnership with the Home Shopping Network, where we have a regularly scheduled show to sell our products and tell our story. We are also currently filming a reality TV series with The Sundance Channel that airs in August. Quirky is a funded startup with offices around the world and nearly 50 employees in our New York headquarters.

Responsibilities
As a rails web developer at Quirky, you will be responsible for contributing to all aspects of building and maintaining the Quirky Technology Platform as we scale the business out to meet increased product demand and greater product development participation. This will include:
end-to-end web application development (database, business logic, front-end) for new site features
backend system development (shopping cart, order fulfillment, accounting, etc)
financial reporting
customer service tools
perational support
Experience
At minimum, you will have at least a few years of professional experience with the following technologies and software. These are the tools that we work with every day and that we expect you to hit the ground running with. The quantity of your experience is not nearly as important as the quality of it.
Ruby on Rails
MySQL
HTML/CSS/Javascript (jQuery)
Git
Agile, Iterative Development
excellent interpersonal and communication skills
action and detail oriented
highly motivated to drive projects to completion
as your code will be deployed in a high-volume e-commerce production environment, performance tuning and testing will be critical to success.
