SW Developer – Sparkler TV

at Sparkler.TV in Silicon Valley, California   —   Jul 07, 2014   |
Overview
Looking for programmers to design and develop core software infrastructure and applications that define the television of the future. If you want to be loved by fellow consumers, this might be a good fit. For the time being, this is for sweat (but significant) equity (fund raising as we write). Below are the details of what we are looking for, but attitude is as important as any specific experience -- flexibility and adaptability are important when the team is small.
Responsibilities
Develop compelling products that meet high levels of performance and reliability demanded by the consumer market.
Develop on/for different platforms, devices, OS's, languages and to integrate them into a cohesive functioning system.
Make prudent engineering tradeoffs between features, architecture, and time-to-market.
Understand that great engineering answers real customer needs.
Experience
Media-centric application development.
Digital TV knowledge.
Server-side infrastructure and application design and development.
Management of embedded product (upgrades, remote debugging).
UI design.
Handheld device application design.
Application development in Windows - COM, Media/Windows SDK, driver development, hardening of Windows suitable for an embedded product, etc.
Compensation
For now, (significant) equity only -- hope to be funded soon, but candidates should be prepared to be self-sustaining for the next 6 months.
