Seeking CTO w/Front End + UI Design Experience to Join Startup with Mission of Global Good

The Role

We are looking for a front-end coder with UI design experience to join as a CTO. First and foremost, you must want to have a positive social impact in the world. You should also be a born leader with a passion for technology and a deep understanding of UI design. You must be comfortable getting in the weeds, especially at the beginning when you'll be responsible for developing the first prototype, creating the front end and UI yourself, and closely supervising an off-shore back-end development team.

As the company expands, you will be responsible for growing a team of talented in-house engineers, as well as leading the overall planning, system architecture, execution, and development of our platform. Through every iteration of our site, you will manage the full product development lifecycle to successfully bring our product to market.

At the start, we are looking for a CTO who can make a part-time commitment, with the expectation that he/she would come on full-time at a later date.
Build the first prototype of our website and maintain our site.
Write all front-end code including HTML, Javascript, JQuery and CSS
Design presentation layer interfaces that are fast and responsive across browsers and compliant with applicable W3C and SEO standards
Ensure overall quality of the presentation layer both in terms of how it displays across browsers and in terms of maintaining well-rationalized CSS
Setup and manage offshore back-end development team as needed
Create clickable wireframes and prototypes of new ideas
Take an active role in product and implementation discussions
Create achievable timeline and deadlines for on-time product releases
Help drive architecture decisions that will provide a sound platform for future growth, especially with regard to the presentation layer
Experience designing end-user, web-based applications
Experience with a version control system (Git a plus)
Experience integrating HTML code into a PHP environment, and experience writing PHP code would be even better
Experience with Facebook and Twitter integration, and social networking APIs
Experience helping to lead both on-shore and off-shore development teams is a definite plus
Coding God with most web-related languages, such as XHTML, CSS, Javascript, DHTML, LAMP, AJAX etx
Proficiency with Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and related tools
Knowledge of all browser types and their various idiosyncrasies
A strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Ability to interact with and communicate effectively (written and verbal) across multiple teams
A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Equity share based on skill level, experience, and part-time v. full time commitment.
