We are now looking for an energetic and experienced Java developer who can add further skills and capacity to our world class team.
The Challenge: You’ll be working alongside our backend development and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions to very complex cloud computing problems. Your first challenge will be to help build out the infrastructure supporting our groundbreaking multi-node physics engine delivering the high-volume transactions demanded by our customers. Additional challenges will include designing and building auto-scaling infrastructure to respond to demand changes, as well as monitoring and automation tools used throughout the company. You’ll be building on our cloud platform - with hundreds of server instances - and leveraging all the strengths of our virtualization environment. From day one, the software you’ll be building will have a large and immediate impact on the success of our product. 4-6 Years experience of Java development
Strong understanding of object oriented concepts, including experience with Java
Experience with some (all a plus) of the following Java technologies - Spring, Hibernate, JMS, JPPF
Experience with clustering, multi-threading, and concurrent servers
Solid understanding of SQL and database design (PostgreSQL a plus)
Strong knowledge of software design patterns
Understanding of functional programming concepts
Experience building platform technologies in a cloud computing environment
Experience with test frameworks such as JUnit, RSpec
Experience with scripting languages such as PHP, Ruby, Perl
Experience with SketchUp (API development a plus)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Masters a plus)
