Overview
Shoptouch is looking Python engineers who love big data. We're working on exciting new concepts that will define the next generation of mobile product search and shopping. The right candidate loves programming and is passionate about building products for web and mobile devices. We have a fast-paced environment with the right balance of quick, iterative development and deliberate, smart architecting.
Responsibilities
Write python map/reduce operations to build and clean product data and generate product recommendation profiles.
Write automated tests for all the code you write.
Architect a pipeline which uses machine learning as well as human based services to help identify and categorize products.
Experience
You have written distributed applications in the past.
You have 1+ years experience developing performant applications in a functional programming language.
You have 3+ years experience as a programmer.
You've optimized code for database performance and understand transaction management, index optimization and concurrency issues affecting relational databases.
Skills
You really love python and are good at it.
You think automated tests are a snap.
Given an ec2 instance, a console and a redis server - you can build just about anything.
Education
BS or MS in CS is preferred but solid experience trumps all.
