Responsibilities
The Gig
Beats Music is looking for a Sr. Data Pipeline Engineer to work on the Personalization and Machine Learning team in support of the analytics pipelines.
Responsibilities:
Work with developers, data scientists, and analytics engineers to design and implement real­time and offline data pipelines, storage infrastructure, and schemas.
Develop processes and tools to integrate and distill data from various sources for use in powering data­informed features
Design, create, and improve software to ingest and store metadata from multiple third­party providers.
Experience
Skills & Experience:
Deep understanding of Object­Oriented Programming, software architecture, design patterns, and software development best practices
Excellent understanding of publish/subscribe architectures including technologies (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Storm, etc.), performance, and implementation
Excellent understanding of scheduling and workflow frameworks and principles
Capable of writing clean, reliable, elegant, performant Python code
Experience with Hadoop Platform (Hadoop, HBase, HDFS, Hive), Pig, Cascading (Python or Java), M/R Streaming, Storm, and other Big Data technologies
Familiarity with NoSQL concepts and databases like MongoDB, Redis, Riak, and Neo4j
Deep understanding of SQL (MySQL preferred), SQL tuning, and schema design
Comfortable with Linux command line tools and basic shell scripting
Comfortable with Agile software development methodologies
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
At least 5 years of relevant software development experience.
