Responsibilities
We are looking for a veteran data warehouse developer. You will have responsibility for our Microsoft SQL data warehouse, including ETL, data model and reporting infrastructure. Glassdoor is re-architecting its current data warehouse to support our growing business intelligence needs. You will work closely with a small team of experienced developers to perform an assessment of the current platform, the future needs of the business and make recommendations for a solution. You must be both strategic and hands-on.
Experience
We are looking for someone that has in-depth data warehouse experience in both high-level architecting, but as well as hands-on development.
Skills
You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, you can change direction quickly, and you're eager to learn new skills as the need arises.
You have experience designing the data model and system level architecture for a large, high-volume data warehouse accessed by both internal Glassdoor employees and external Glassdoor partners.
You are an expert at data warehouse best practices including star schemas, OLAP cubes, ETL, reporting services and near-real time datwarehousing techniques.
You are an expert at Microsoft SQL technologies such as T-SQL, replication, SSAS, SSIS and reporting services.
You are an expert at performance tuning databases to create efficient ETL processes and reports.
You have deep experience building data warehouses (5+ years) and experience as an architect (2+ years).
You have knowledge of managing the physical data storage as well as backup and recovery solutions.
You are an excellent communicator and enjoy collaborating with others.
You are able to gather and interpret business requirements into a technical solution.
You can take a task and deliver on it.
