Overview
Infrastructure Engineers at this leading ESN are the essential glue between the various engineering and operations teams. They write code and configuration, perform analysis and optimization, educate and facilitate. They understand better than anyone how the services and systems come together.
Responsibilities
Improve the scalability, resilience, observability and efficiency of our systems
Code using primarily Ruby
Design, implement and maintain tools, libraries and infrastructure components
Work closely with engineering and operations to design, build, maintain systems
Rapidly debug and solve site problems
Experience
Candidates must be able to meet customer security screening requirements as indicated for this role. Customer screening requirements may include additional items such as, but not limited to: specialized agency background checks (either national or local) and fingerprinting. All employees hired into roles supporting Cloud Offerings will also be required to pass Microsoft background checks prior to the start of employment and every two years thereafter.
Skills
Experience with Memcache, Redis, Riak and Postgres
Experience with Chef, Puppet, etc
Experience with Ruby on Rails performance tuning
Experience with JVM performance tuning
Experience building fault tolerant, scalable systems
You are awesome, passionate, and nice
Strong skills with Linux/BSD
Strong skills using: Ruby, Java, Perl, Python, JavaScript (2+)
Great debugging and reasoning skills
Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, security, SQL databases, key-value stores
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
