The Senior Manager - Support Operations will perform and manage operational tasks as assigned, in order to provide timely and efficient customer support to a large and rapidly expanding customer community of educators and students across a variety of educational software and related products.
Responsibilities of the Senior Manager – Support Operations:
Manage Vendor Relationships, both domestic and international, including but not limited to responsibilities for special-purchase item sourcing, terms, vendor agreements, and investigation of new vendor options as need may arise.
Develop fundamental understanding of the educational software market, customer, the materials developed by Wireless Generation to serve this market, and the daily tasks of Helpdesk in support of the customer and product.
Maintain familiarity with terms and conditions of freight, customs, duty, and international shipping rules and terminology, and how this may vary from US and Internationally.
Maintain fundamental knowledge of publishing rights and restrictions, printing, electronic device manufacture, and the application of international freight, customs and duty upon these.
Maintain thorough understanding of ASTM and other international regulations governing content testing and labor condition guidelines.
Create and produce regular reports and/or presentations on the status of projects underway regarding the above tasks, as well as reports on overall performance indicators for the Support business unit to VP Customer Services and larger audience, as assigned,
Basic Qualifications of the Senior Manager – Support Operations:
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)
3 – 5 years’ experience managing in an operations environment
Demonstrated success meeting policy or practice objectives
Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Manager – Support Operations:
MS or MA degree
Ability to monitor and analyze a broad range of issues
Possess excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills as well as a professional executive presence
Familiarity with print and light manufacturing, warehouse and freight management, ASTM, NAFTA, Import and Export procedures
