Overview
Our client, located in Cambridge, MA is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to join their team. Providing communication services, the company unifies applications onto a single platform, allowing companies to significantly lower communication costs
Responsibilities
Act as a key technical resource to get customers live on their unified platform.
Decipher customer data (LAN/WAN) and voice requirements. Then create and implement a network design meeting those requirements.
Troubleshoot customer service issues involving network, systems, applications, and end-user interaction.
Turn up and troubleshoot T1s, MPLS circuits with partner carriers
Act as a pre-sales engineer on an as-needed basis to propose workable network designs to potential customers.
Assist in projects such as new application rollouts, new data center build outs, etc
Experience

Skills
Cisco IOS or other command line based routers, switches, and firewalls necessary.
Familiarity with TCP/UDP, IP routing, Ethernet, VLANs, DHCP, NAT, and router failover configurations.
Configuring firewall (ASA and PIX)
Working knowledge of VoIP (SIP/RTP or other protocol) & VPN.
DSL, Cable, T1, DS3, Metro Ethernet, VPN, MPLS deployments.
Cisco 1900, 2900, 3900 series routers
Cisco 2900, 3500, 3700, 4900 series switches
Cisco Call Manager, Avaya, Nortel, Shoretel or other enterprise PBX a plus.
Linux (and / or other Unix) experience including Redhat, CentOS, and Debian
Scripting or coding experience (php, bash, perl, python).
Education
Degree in relevant field is a plus
