End users use Skytap’s self-service web interface to create cloud based virtual environments in minutes, run applications without code changes in the cloud, and collaborate globally. IT professionals benefit by maintaining full visibility and control over cloud deployments, enforcing security, and easily tracking usage and costs. Enterprises and mid-market companies securely connect their cloud environments with their own private data center, creating a hybrid cloud solution.

With over 150 paying customers, Skytap raised a Series C round of funding in early 2011 and received a significant investment of growth capital. Investors include Madrona Venture Group, Ignition Partners, and OpenView Venture Partners. Skytap is looking for outstanding professionals as it expands its team to support rapid growth.

Skytap is seeking a highly technical and results-oriented product manager who has the instincts for making decisions that lead to products that delight customers and accelerate business success. If you are passionate about building easy to use, innovative cloud computing products with a world-class startup team, this is the job for you. This position will serve as a key thought leader on the product management team and report to the VP of Products.

As Senior Product Manager you will work closely with the Skytap engineering team defining new capabilities; with the product marketing team to translate these capabilities into meaningful customer benefits, sales motivators, and competitive differentiators; and with the Skytap sales team working with customers directly to understand their requirements and communicate innovations and product roadmap.
Responsibilities
Develop a deep working knowledge of Skytap’s product including all new product releases
Champion Skytap's users and their experience with our web-based cloud computing service
Gather direct customer feedback by studying customer support incidents, administering user surveys, organizing user groups, hosting focus groups, and visiting customers to study product interaction in their natural environment.
Build strong internal relationships with an experienced engineering team. Write product specifications that drive optimal implementation solutions
Establish relationships and credibility with Skytap cloud solutions architects and marketing teams as a technical product expert
Measure and analyze customer and feature usage. Identify opportunities to innovate and improve customer experience.
Participate in defining and maintaining Skytap’s product roadmap
Execute new product launches including the creation of documentation, release notes, product webinars, and training sales on new capabilities
Contribute to Skytap’s overall company success as a senior leader on the product management team
Experience
4+ years of product management experience delivering products for developer or IT audiences
2+ years of product management experience with software as a service delivery models
Excellent understanding of some cloud computing technologies, or related areas such as virtualization, networking, or large scale distributed systems

Communication — you have demonstrated strong presentation, written communication, and speaking skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent) is required; an MBA is a plus.

Salary to be negotiated commensurate with experience, including quarterly MBO bonus
