Senior Python Developer

Blueshift Local is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join us in building out and launching DoTell, a brand new social business directory, in the Washington, DC area and beyond. You will be developing a consumer product that everybody and their mom will soon be using, all the while working with a great team and using cutting edge tools and techniques.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary based on your experience. We also offer health, dental, and vision care.
Build new APIs and functionality
Participate in the direction, design, and implementation of new functionality
Work with product management and front end developers
Balance code performance efficiency with development efficiency
Solve problems and fix bugs
Assist in maintaining a healthy production environment as we expand the product and grow our user base
Experience with and a deep understanding of both Python and Django
Proficiency with RDBMS (beyond working with the Django ORM)
Applied knowledge of RESTful service design
The ability to work well with others as well as with minimal supervision
A passion for learning and pride in the work you produce
Experience with ElasticSearch or other Lucene-based search solutions
Experience with task queues and web sockets
A working knowledge of one or more NoSQL database solutions such as Riak or Neo4j
Basic proficiency with HTML, CSS, and javascript
Experience developing applications for one or more mobile platforms
