As a Sr. SQL Server DBA, you will be responsible for all aspects of database administration for our production and development SQL Servers.
These responsibilities will include creating, configuring and maintaining SQL Server databases.
You will be responsible for database monitoring as well as troubleshooting performance issues with CPU, memory, I/O and query optimization.
You will oversee backups and take responsibility for our overall backup strategy.
We currently have an OLTP database and a data warehouse hosted by a third party, as well as a half dozen internal development, staging and QA databases.

In this role you work with a small, collaborative team of engineers, QA, and product managers – so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also a must. 5+ years of SQL Server Database Administration
Expert in troubleshooting issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other types of resource contention
Expert at managing the physical data storage of SQL Server databases
Strong knowledge of backups, restores and recovery models
Ability to resolve connectivity and security issues
Knowledge of partitioning strategies and have worked with very large tables
Experience administering databases in a clustered environment
Experience working with SQL Server Transactional Replication
Expert in resolving database performance issues, including blocking and deadlocking issues
Strong understanding of indexes, index management, integrity checks and statistics
Experience writing stored procedures and have knowledge of database design best practices
Experience in SQL performance tuning and query optimization
Experience with shell scripting and Perl

BS or MS in Computer Science or other technical field
