Overview
Market America Inc, a prominent leader in the ecommerce industry is seeking a high caliber software engineer to work on its new search platform. You will contribute to the next generation of our search engine, and have the chance to shape the shopping experience of millions of users . You will collaborate on state-of-the-art technologies, ranging from self-tuning ranking techniques for search and advertising to novel performance optimization approaches. Many of our technologies incorporate familiar concepts from web search, but many are innovative and unique to Market America – you must have the drive and ability to investigate and address unfamiliar problems in topics including search relevance, large-scale distributed systems, and algorithmic efficiency. This is a technical leadership position requiring a high-energy, goal –oriented, self motivated individual.

Contribute to the entire development lifecycle of Market America search engine: concept, prototype, implementation, deployment, and measurement.
Design and implement improvements to ranking and performance in close cooperation with research and product management
Experience
Job Requirements:
Expert level knowledge of object oriented design and multi-threaded implementation techniques in C#
Strong grasp of data structure, data mining and algorithm fundamentals
Experience developing and deploying large scale performance – sensitive distributed team development environment
Outstanding communication skills and a track record of achievement in a dynamic team development environment
Industrial experience using Extreme Programming and/or Agile methods preferred
Entrepreneurial spirit and strong drive to innovate any aspect of the company
Able to lead and grow a small development team
Skills
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years software engineering experience developing products in Linux/Unix or Windows environment.
Development experience in information retrieval, computational linguistics, and distributed algorithms are a must.
Education
BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
