Senior Software Engineer

Overview
Spindle is seeking a highly talented Senior Software Engineer with experience building real products from scratch. As a member of the engineering team, you'll be asked to dive into solving problems across our entire software stack. On any given day that may mean: scaling distributed systems to fetch, store, and index content; developing machine learning improvements over large data sets; or building front-end websites and mobile applications. At Spindle you'll have the opportunity to directly drive the development and direction of a product you'll want to use and grow the engineering culture of a company that you'd want to work for.

Responsibilities
Efficiently plan, estimate, design, implement, and test software systems without supervision
Write stable, efficient, testable, scalable code
Drive all phases of the software development life cycle, from identifying product needs to design, deployment, and live site operations
Build the Spindle engineering culture by participating in code reviews, establishing coding conventions, and mentoring other developers
Experience
6+ years experience building and maintaining production software
2+ years building software with agile methodologies
Skills
Passion for coding and being very hands-on during all aspects of the development lifecycle
Appreciation for user experience and well-designed user interfaces
Deep familiarity with rapid, iterative development best practices
Intuitive understanding of successful, direct-to-consumer Internet and mobile products
Quick learner, self-directed, and able to work successfully both on a team and individually
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, intense, but very fun environment
Strong verbal and written communication
Education
A degree in a technology-related field, or relevant experience
