Overview
Demdex, a well-funded venture-backed start-up is building out its founding technology team and is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help develop and launch a revolutionary new product that will continue to transform the online advertising space. Demdex has an exceptional and accomplished management team so you will be in the company of real pros building exciting, innovative technology.
We are looking to hire a highly experienced and talented candidate who possesses a strong background in object-oriented programming and relational databases under Linux. We need someone that has experience architecting, designing, developing and implementing complete solutions from end to end.
In addition to being a highly accomplished software engineer and team leader, the ideal candidate will also have an interest in the online advertising space or data intensive, mathematics-driven businesses. S/he will have a track record developing web applications at-scale and will thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities
Developing high performance servers
Web application development
Technical Spec writing and architecture
Debugging/troubleshooting/production support
Unit and integration test development (JUnit, HTTPUnit)
Technical leadership, code review and mentoring
Experience
3-7 years developing software applications
1-2 years of network programming (NIO, Sockets, etc.)
Strong background with Relational Databases and SQL Queries (experience with MySQL is a plus)
BS in Comp. Sci., IT, or related (Masters Degree is a plus)
Hadoop/Cassandra
Skills
2-4 years of multithreaded, real-time application development in Java
NIO experience
FLEX experience
GUI/Swing experience
Eclipse, ANT Builds, SVN, Web Services
