We’re hiring smart and motivated people who want to join our small team of data mining engineers. As a member of the group, you’ll get to work on projects to improve search relevance of the largest ecommerce search engine on the web.
Our search index has 450 million offers – almost 20 times that of Nextag, Amazon etc., and we get 10s of millions of user visits every month. In addition we crawl the whole web to find social signals for products - what are the most liked products, and who likes what. Whenever a user facebook connects with our application, we also analyze his userdata for personalizing the experience for him.
All of this data set provides a fantastic opportunity for you to dive deep in and extract signals from the noise. You’ll be working on projects like personalization by mining user data, finding similar items by mining the index and user clickthrough data, influencing revenue metrics of the company by mining user clickthrough data, social graph analysis etc. You’ll be using both relational database systems and nosql systems with mapreduce programming framework to crunch numbers. Some background in statistics is also preferred.
In a project, you’ll be responsible for end to end – i.e. from idea generation to production deployment. Only candidates with appropriate background should apply.
