We are looking for a smart, passionate, and curious Senior Support Engineer to help run our systems, support our customers, and build systems and automation that will allow us to meet our explosive growth. Our Senior Support Engineer is expected to work well on a team and take a lead role in scaling our operation. We are looking for someone with strong verbal and written communication skills and strong engineering skills, along with a clear mind and willingness to tackle technical and business questions.
Successful candidates must also be innovative, creative, flexible, and self-directed. The ability to function independently at a high level in a fast paced environment along with a team of talented engineers is essential.
Operate the video processing system and write automation and tools to provide self-service capabilities to our internal and external users
Build and extend monitoring and capacity management systems to improve system efficiency and support scaling
Serve as a first line of defense for operational incidents and customer issues. Triage and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate
Participate in engineering projects and develop product features enhancing the video processing system
BS or equivalent experience in CS or related studies
Expert knowledge of Linux, command line, and shell scripting
Advanced Functional Scripting knowledge in Ruby or similar languages. Experience coding Java/C++ is desirable
Basic understanding of core Internet technologies – DNS, Load balancing, HTTP,TCP/IP, XML, MySQL. Familiarity with EC2/S3 is desirable
Experience in a 24/7 production environment
