Overview
Milo is looking for a sysadmin who is familiar with basic Python/WSGI application stacks on Linux (it's OK if you know Perl too, we won't laugh) and is comfortable writing plugins for Munin and Nagios. This position will almost certainly include on-call responsibilities (but much less since we were acquired by eBay).
Responsibilities
Manage Milo's build and deployment
Administer a small (100GB) PostgreSQL 8.4 database
Manage systems monitoring with Nagios, Munin, or other tools that you see fit
Manage the migration of Milo's hardware environment into eBay's data centers
Be the escalation contact for eBay's on-call Network Operations Center
Experience
The ideal candidate should be very familiar with these software packages:
Linux, of course
PostgreSQL
Apache httpd
Nagios
Munin
some HTTP load balancer
a revision control system
Squid
And any candidate with experience in the following areas gets a gold star:
Building debian packages and APT repositories
Continuous integrations systems like Hudson/Jenkins
Deploying a full Python/WSGI stack, including Python modules
Performance profiling/tuning experience at the hardware/OS level
haproxy
git
HAproxy
Apache solr on jetty
Redis
FTP, SFTP
SSL
PostgreSQL replication, native and/or Slony
pgbouncer
Linux-HA's Heartbeat
